THE POSITION
The Public Utility Commission (PUC) is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented individual with excellent multi-tasking abilities to join our team as a Legal Assistant 1. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Legal Assistant 1, you will be responsible for varied administrative and legal clerical support. This work includes, but is not limited to typing, formatting, proofreading, finalizing briefs and pleadings, as well as preparing legal documents and submitting them electronically or in person. You will also be responsible for preparing travel or training approval forms, researching and compiling cost estimates thereto, making travel or training arrangements through the commonwealth's online system, and preparing travel expense reimbursements. You may have the opportunity to perform a variety of clerical support duties such as handling mail, answering the telephone, copying, maintaining calendars, and managing office equipment. In addition to clerical duties, Legal Assistants may also act as a courier to make filings and serve documents within the downtown Harrisburg area.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
* Full-time employment
* Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
* Telework: Part-time work from home (telework) may be a potential feature of this position. The successful candidate is required to report to the headquarters worksite daily, unless the employee meets eligibility requirements and telework has been approved. Management may discontinue any telework arrangement at any time, for any reason. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
* To be eligible to participate in telework, the employee's alternate (telework) worksite must meet the following requirements:
* Within a reasonable travel distance of Harrisburg; and
* Within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
* Three years of responsible clerical, enforcement or investigative work; or
* An equivalent combination of experience and training.
