Xavier Creative House (XCH) is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Medical Editor/Proofreader to join our fully remote team. THE PERSON
Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for ensuring the accuracy, clarity, and compliance of promotional content? Accuracy-Focused: You ensure all materials are consistent and adhere to established grammar, punctuation, spelling rules, and AMA, client, and house style guidelines.

Detail-Oriented: You have a keen eye for detail, verifying alignment with approved content, format, and spacing consistency between copy and graphics.

Knowledgeable : You stay familiar with FDA, EU, and relevant guidelines and industry standards to ensure documents meet or exceed sponsor and regulatory requirements.

Collaborative Team Player: You work seamlessly with the team to incorporate client and medical-legal review feedback, addressing required revisions.

Effective Communicator: You possess strong communication skills, both written and oral, ensuring clarity and precision in all editorial work.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The job responsibilities of our Medical Editor/Proofreader include, but are not limited to:

Editorial and Proofreading:
  • Copy, edit, and fact-check materials to ensure consistency and adherence to established grammar, punctuation, spelling rules, and AMA, client, and house style guidelines.
  • Proofread materials to verify alignment with approved content, format, and spacing consistency between copy and graphics.
  • Identify copyrighted material requiring permission for reproduction and process permission requests when necessary.
Regulatory Compliance:
  • Stay familiar with FDA, EU, and relevant guidelines and industry standards to ensure documents meet or exceed sponsor and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with the team to incorporate client and medical-legal review feedback, addressing required revisions.
  • Must be familiar with the creation and/or review of medical reference annotations and submission packages.
Project Management:
  • Utilize company project management and communication software effectively.
  • Attend kickoff, status, and other job-related meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS

Required:
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical marketing and proficiency in English grammar, punctuation, and AMA style.
  • Strong knowledge of scientific and medical concepts, vital for maintaining content accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Detail-oriented with strong copyediting and data integrity review abilities.
  • Familiarity with the AMA style guide.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong time management skills with a focus on prioritization and organization to meet deadlines.Preferred:
  • Knowledge of FDA and EU requirements, ICH regulations, and ISO standards as applicable to regulatory documents.
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Life Sciences, or Clinical Sciences.
  • 7+ years of professional copyediting experience, with a proven track record of maintaining content quality and adherence to regulatory standards.

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 to $95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a fully remote position. The role demands extended periods of sitting, frequent computer use, and the ability to participate in virtual meetings requiring clear speech and hearing. Candidates must manage a quiet, ergonomic workspace with reliable internet access.
