UWorld’s illustration team is growing! We are seeking a talented medical Illustrator to collaborate with a team of animators, physicians, nurses, and scientists to create effective animations and illustrations for our educational apps. A successful candidate will have outstanding draftsmanship skills, an eye for illustration and a passion for education. Minimum Education: Master’s degree in medical illustration or related field Minimum Experience: 1-2 years of experience in the field of medical illustration Exceptional proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (ie. Photoshop, Illustrator) Experience working in ZBrush and Cinema 4D or Maya is a plus Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Have experience in storyboarding, 3D modelling, texture mapping. Confidently work in an environment with high expectations Demonstrated excellence in figure drawing and human anatomy Be receptive to continuous feedback from peers and management Have excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Develop new skills rapidly Have basic animation skills Job Responsibilities: Design and Create Create storyboards, 3D assets, concept art (look development/styling) for our animation team. Create exceptional illustrations for a wide range of subjects, including anatomy & physiology, surgical techniques, nursing techniques, biology, organic chemistry, and physics Collaborate with our medical and science teams to create unique ways of visualizing difficult concepts Utilize a library of 3D and 2D assets Create illustrations according to stylistic guidelines Consult and Collaborate Collaborate with content experts and animators to create medical and scientific animations Collaborate with management and team members to define schedules and deliverables, and to ensure goals are met Help maintain an efficient and successful production process Technical/Quality Assurance Communicate effectively with IT & quality assurance teams to anticipate and resolve issues Work independently or in small groups to trouble-shoot and provide solutions to production issues related to creation and content building Benefits Benefits: Stable and growing work environment that prioritizes a quality work/life balance Comprehensive benefits package (medical, vision, dental, life, disability) Paid time off (based on sliding scale according to hire date and work hours) 401(k) plan for retirement with 5% employer matching (eligibility after 90 days of employment) Generous paid holiday schedule that includes the entire week of Christmas off Competitive salary with annual bonus eligibility Onsite work environment with flexibility to work 1 day remotely each week On-site group fitness classes & relaxed work environment At UWorld, we believe strength is derived from the talents, ideas, and experiences of a diverse workforce.
