Position Purpose
Provide daily management of all medications for Villagers in Personal Care Home (PCH) and Assisted Living Community (ALC) to ensure Villager medication compliance and wellbeing. Coordinate with the designated pharmacy to ensure all medications are available for administration. Is an integral part of the Health Services team and will work in coordination with the Nurse Manager to ensure the Villagers receive comprehensive medical care.
Required Qualifications
Must be a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in good standing and meet all applicable federal and Georgia state certification requirements.
2 years’ experience in the healthcare field preferred; OR Must have 5 years’ experience in the healthcare field AND must be willing to complete a CMA Certification within 4 months of employment.
Must be at least 18 years of age, have a valid Class C Georgia Driver’s License, proof of vehicle insurance, and meet company policy regarding MVR requirements.
Must meet state requirements regarding a GBI and FBI criminal history record check which requires fingerprinting.
Must undergo and pass a drug screening and screening for Tuberculosis.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Assist Nurse Managers with medication management including but not limited to completing med cart audits, distributing medications to the med carts, following up on medication discrepancies,
Builds a relationship with the agency pharmacy of choice to ensure prompt customer service as needed to ensure that medications are available per regulations
Administers medications as needed to Villagers in the PCH and ALC.
Oversees medication for Villager travel
Coordinates and oversees medication cart audits monthly and as needed
Transport and attend Villager medical appointments as needed
Maintains professional competencies through education and training
Monitors for compliance of all regulatory agency standards
Participates in surveys and inspections by government agencies
Performs other duties that may be necessary in the best interest of Annandale at Suwanee, Inc. to meet the personal service and care needs of the facility residents
