Senior Commercial Estimator

Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Salary: $110-$150k (Depending on Experience)
Employment Type: Full-time

About the Role

We are seeking a Senior Commercial Electrical Estimator with a strong background in commercial construction to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates for large-scale commercial projects, ensuring successful project execution and profitability. While Data Center experience is highly preferred, candidates with a solid foundation in estimating across other sectors will also be considered.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates for all phases of commercial construction projects, including materials, labor, and subcontractors.
• Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and clients to ensure alignment with project goals and expectations.
• Review project specifications, drawings, and contracts to identify risks and develop strategies for cost control.
• Manage multiple bids simultaneously, meeting strict deadlines and delivering high-quality proposals.
• Utilize estimating software such as Procore, Bluebeam, or Xactimate to develop cost models and bid packages.
• Conduct pre-bid meetings, site walks, and scope reviews with vendors and subcontractors.
• Stay current on market trends, material costs, and industry best practices to maintain competitive edge.
• Provide input during value engineering discussions to optimize project outcomes without compromising quality.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as an estimator in commercial construction or related fields.
• Data Center project experience is highly preferred but not mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes, methods, and building materials.
• Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore, Xactimate) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts with attention to detail.
• Proven ability to manage multiple bids and priorities under tight deadlines.

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• Experience in Data Centers, healthcare, industrial, or large commercial projects.
• Familiarity with HVAC, piping, plumbing, and electrical systems is a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
