General Description
The Trainer facilitates a comprehensive training program for newly hired personnel, including program leadership, in accordance with Corporate, agency policies and procedures and federal and state standards and requirements. The Trainer will be responsible for evaluating, designing, coordinating, and delivering a comprehensive range of learning and education programs related to professional and leadership development. Assists with the implementation of strategies and needs assessment, to meet the training needs of staff and program requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in education, psychology, sociology, or other relevant behavioral science.
- Two (2) years of experience as a trainer, educator or working on projects demonstrating advanced levels of developing training responsibilities.
- Knowledge of family preservation, kinship care, trauma informed care, child welfare policies and procedures, and relevant state and federal laws and regulations.
- Fluent in English and Spanish (verbal/written).
- Excellent presentation skills as well as oral and written communication skills required.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systems.
- A valid driver's license, available to travel for meetings and training.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Collaborate with leadership to develop a Training Plan for new employees, identifies learning gaps and conducts initial needs assessment.
- Define overall development and learning objectives, design curriculum, curate content for employee development and leadership training courses using proven and creative strategies for actively engaging learners through methods and techniques.
- Learn training content to provide training as required and in accordance with program’s policies, principles and ethics of the profession, contract/cooperative agreement governing policies and procedures, program guidance updates and any applicable state or federal regulations.
- Provide training on trauma, child welfare practices, organization and ORR policies and procedures, human trafficking, child development, health, and safety work practices, among other topics.
- Ensure the delivery of training to, and maintains compliance for, the program staff based on approved curriculum/psycho-education information, and/or evidence-based, best practice material to new and existing staff.
- Responsible for the execution of training courses (in-person, virtual, or simulated environment) required to meet the needs of staff from diverse backgrounds.
- Collaborate with Program Management Office and Program Leadership to oversee new employee training, refreshers, annual and specialized training for existing employees.
- Responsible for setting up training tracks in RELIAS and monitoring and entering needed documents within the RELIAS system for the program.
- Work closely with Human Resources and/or leadership to ensure all program staff are compliant with the training requirements and mandates.
- Ensure all training materials are current and training materials are revised to reflect changes in requirements, etc.
- Well-versed in program requirements and can convey correct information and address any questions that may be posed by staff being trained.
- Maintain records on employee training, order/purchasing of training material, training equipment inventory, and compliance activities.
- Manage oversight of training records and/or data from learning management systems in collaboration with Program Leadership, or designee and communicates to program management and Human Resource when any personnel is out of compliance or overdue on training or course completion.
- Provide recommendations related to training to Program Leadership, which includes delivery of training services, training equipment/material, training data collection and ensuring/monitoring contract performance.
- Maintain oversight of a training activity calendar related to overall training compliance, for new employee training, bi-annual or annual required training target dates, and new training requirements.
- Coordinate New Employee Orientation (NEO) by aligning training resources and communicating schedules to Human Resources and leadership.
- Participate in short-and long-range planning to maintain compliance with all training requirements; develops and provides recommendation to assist program in accomplishment of established organizational objectives.
- Represent the organization at various community and/or business meetings; promotes existing and new programs and/or policies in accordance with organizational goals.
- Remain current with all changes and updates in contract policy, specifically around training policies, and support the program’s training department in meeting contract and relevant state and/or federal requirements.
- Attend certification and re-certification training for First Aid/CPR, non-violent crisis intervention, relevant ORR training, and other certifications as deemed appropriate by Project Management Office leadership, immediate supervisor, or designee.
- Attend all required organizational trainings.
- Performs other essential tasks or miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Maintain appropriate documentation, safeguard confidential records, and protect personally identifiable information according to program regulations.
- Participate in training, meetings, and maintain quality improvement initiatives as recommended.
- Must maintain a flexible work schedule to meet the training needs of the program staff.
- This role requires travel to provide training in surrounding areas in the region.
- Related duties as assigned and may be revised as needed to meet program needs.
